Eyelid surgery is performed in an outpatient surgery center. General anesthesia or a combination of local anesthesia and sedation is most often used. As we administer an anesthetic, relaxation and peace will settle in. Immediate Recovery: After your eyelid surgery, although rare you may experience bruising and swelling. These symptoms are most noticeable for the first seven to ten days. While many patients feel well enough to return to work within a few days, the physical signs of surgery might prompt some to take a longer break but rarely more than 7 days. Makeup can be a helpful tool to conceal any discoloration 10 days after surgery.
Activity Level: While returning to work and light activities might be feasible within a few days, it's advisable to refrain from more strenuous activities for at least 2 weeks to ensure proper healing and minimize potential complications.
Stitch Removal: Stitches from the procedure are typically removed within three to seven days post-surgery. It's essential to follow your surgeon's guidance on care during this period to ensure the incisions heal well and leave minimal scarring.

Can eyelid surgery fix dark circles under the eyes?

Is eyelid surgery ever covered by insurance?
