With so much swirling on the web regarding skincare and makeup, in addition to having a plethora of opinions from your friends and family, I’ve taken it upon myself to let you in on a few myths and facts to aid you in your beauty routine. After reading you’ll be an esthetic master ?
Myth
Your inner wrist is the best place to rest makeup.
Fact
Your inner wrist is the lightest part of your body and can throw off the accuracy of selecting a foundation shade. Instead, test on your jaw line and take your chest color into consideration as well.
Myth
Chocolate and greasy food cause acne.
Fact
No one food has been proven to cause breakouts. If you find a correlation, quit eating that particular food ?
Myth
Your eyelashes will fall out if mascara is not removed.
Fact
Well, this is scary but unfortunately true. Mascara can clog your eyelash follicles, which leads to breakage and shedding.

Myth
You should avoid oil if your skin is naturally oily.
Fact
Some oils can actually benefit this type of skin. Natural essentials oils like orange and grapefruit help balance a shiny complexion so skin does not over-compensate and produce more oil.
Myth
Mineral makeup is like rubbing rocks on your face.
Fact
Mineral makeup is a finely milled, gentle product that is brushed onto the skin surface for a flawless and non-harmful application.
Myth
If you have cellulite, you must be overweight.
Fact
Anyone can get cellulite regardless of weight, it does not discriminate. That dreaded dimpled look is actually caused by tiny fibrous bands under the skin, which pull down around pockets of fat.
Myth
Collagen cream can replace the collagen in your skin.
Fact
Using a collagen cream unfortunately cannot replace the lost collagen in your skin. Collagen used in skincare products is best when infused, but applied topically can still be beneficial.
I hope this helped!
Until next time…… glimmer, shimmer and glow!
